Riding round Birmingham
Birmingham is where British motorcycles were made in numbers. BSA built its factory at Small Heath and named the road through it Armoury Road. The National Motorcycle Museum is at Bickenhill, on the M42 junction 6 island opposite the NEC, with over 1,000 machines from 170 British marques.
Every November the NEC hosts Motorcycle Live, and the 2026 show runs from 21 to 29 November. If you buy a bike there, or need one taken to a stand, I can do the run to Bickenhill.
"home to the world's largest collection of British motorcycles."
That museum sits a few hundred yards from the halls where Motorcycle Live happens, so Bickenhill is busy with bikes most of the year. A collection from the NEC in show week needs planning, which is why I ask for the date early.
