How motorbike transport prices are worked out
Two things decide your price: how far each end of the job is from Brewood, and, for longer runs, the total miles the van covers.
- £99Both ends within 10 miles of Brewood, measured as the crow flies.
- £129Both ends within 20 miles. Walsall, Telford, Dudley and Birmingham sit in this ring.
- Van milesFurther than that, the price goes on the total miles the van covers: Brewood to the bike, the bike to its new home, and back to Brewood.
Every motorcycle transport price on one board
Fixed for a standard weekday job: the bike rolls, steers and brakes, and there's normal access at both ends. Weekends add a flat £50.

What's in the motorcycle transport price, and what changes it
Always in the price
- Collection from the address you give me
- The run itself, with the bike staying with me the whole way
- Delivery and handover at the other end
- One fixed figure before you book, with no VAT to add
What changes it
- A Saturday or Sunday adds a flat £50
- Runs over 200 van miles: I confirm those by hand
- Anything unusual about access: I tell you before the job, and you can cancel
- The bike must roll, steer and brake. I can't move ones that don't, yet
Motorbike transport marketplace or a one-man transporter?
Marketplaces such as Shiply and AnyVan work well, especially for long cross-country jobs. They just work differently, so here's a fair side-by-side.
| Question | Shiply | AnyVan | MC Transports |
|---|---|---|---|
| How the price is set | You post the job and delivery companies send quotes | An instant quote, based on what, where and when | A published price list and an instant fixed price |
| Who turns up | The company whose quote you accept | A vetted partner from their nationwide network | Me, Sean, every time |
| Who you talk to | The company you pick, through the site | AnyVan, then your assigned team | The person collecting your bike |
| Best for | Comparing several firms on long runs | Quick bookings anywhere in the country | West Midlands and Staffordshire jobs, and longer runs by quote |

Motorcycle transport price questions
How much does it cost to transport a motorbike?
With me it is £99 when both the collection and the delivery are within 10 miles of Brewood, and £129 within 20 miles. Further than that it goes on total van miles: £250 up to 100, £299 for 101 to 200, and from £399 beyond that. Put both postcodes into the price checker and you see your fixed price in seconds.
What is the cheapest way to transport a motorcycle?
If the bike is taxed, MOT'd, insured and you are happy to ride it, riding it home costs nothing but fuel. If not, for a local job a fixed £99 is hard to beat, and you know the price before you book. On long cross-country runs a marketplace can sometimes be cheaper if a transporter is already heading that way, so it is worth comparing.
Do you charge per mile?
No. There is no per-mile rate. Local jobs are fixed by distance from Brewood, and longer jobs fall into a band by total van miles, so the price checker always gives you one figure rather than a sum.
Is the online price fixed?
Yes, for a standard weekday job: the bike rolls, steers and brakes, and there is normal access at both ends. If anything is unusual I tell you before the job and you can cancel. Runs over 200 van miles I price by hand.
Do you add VAT?
No. I'm not VAT registered, so the price you see is the price you pay.
How much extra is a weekend?
Weekend jobs add a flat £50. The booking form adds it to your total as soon as you pick a Saturday or Sunday.
What counts as local?
Local means both the collection and the delivery are within 10 miles of Brewood, measured as the crow flies. That takes in Cannock, Wolverhampton and most of Stafford. Within 20 miles takes in Walsall, Telford, Dudley and Birmingham.
What if my motorbike does not run?
I can't move bikes that don't roll, steer and brake just yet. If you are not sure about yours, send me the details and I'll tell you straight.
How do I pay for motorbike transport?
By bank transfer, ideally before the collection day. If we agree it beforehand, you can pay when the bike is delivered. Either way, the price you're quoted is the price you pay, with no VAT on top.
